Environmental Centre - Byng Road

Yesterday I went to an open day at the Environmental Centre in Byng Road. There were all sorts of people there and it was really great to have a chat with so many people and catch up with some that I hadn't seen for a while. The centre is a facility that could be really good, however the current administration would dearly like to build on it and have deliberately run it down. With a little thought it could become a really valuable local facility. The Friends of the Centre have made great efforts to make use of the centre for nature trails, education. pond dipping etc. The uncertainty over its future makes it hard for anyone to plan properly. Nearly all the residents in the area are against the centre being built on.
