Dear Councillors
At the last Member Development Panel, it was mentioned that some Members would have liked to have joined the tour of the borough after last year's elections but work and prior engagements prevented them from doing so.
We are proposing to run the tour again, subject to Member interest, in July, commencing late afternoon.
Yesterday I received an update that five Councillors are interested in taking the tour. Now I can almost understand running a tour immediately after the elections (although I would have thought that potential Councillors would have some clue about what is where in the Borough).
But isn't it seriously worrying when over a year later there are five Councillors who haven't been to Hendon Town Hall, North London Business Park and Brent Cross, which from memory was where the tour was going?
What a waste of money! My suggestion would be to give the five an Oyster card and tell them to try and get from Hendon Town Hall to NLBP by Bus (or any other form of public transport). They would learn far more about the geography of the borough than by going on a coach trip.
